What types of companies are there in Lithuania?
The most popular types of company in Lithuania are the Private Limited Company (UAB, Uždaroji akcinė bendrovė) and the Small Partnership (MB, Mažoji bendrija). However, there are other types of companies that can be used to meet the needs of your business activity, such as Charity and Support Foundation, Branch, Representative office.
Can I register a Lithuanian company remotely?
Yes. You typically need to be a Lithuanian resident with a residence permit and possess a qualified electronic signature. Non-residents can set up a company remotely through a representative with a Power of Attorney.

What is the minimum share capital required?
UAB — €1,000. Must be paid to an accumulation bank account.
MB — No minimum share capital required (can be from €1).
Is a registered office address mandatory?
Yes. You cannot register a company without a physical address in Lithuania.
What documents are required to open a company in Lithuania with a notary?
Only valid passports and notarized power of attorney with a translation into Lithuanian are required from founders and directors. All other necessary documents are prepared by us.
If the founder is a legal entity (company), its founding documents will additionally be required, along with a translation into Lithuanian.
When should I open a business bank account?
In the case of registering a UAB, you will need to choose one of the Lithuanian financial institutions and open a savings/accumulation account to deposit the authorized share capital. This account will need to be activated after the company is registered. Depending on the chosen financial institution, the account can be activated either by a physical visit in person or online.
In the case of registering an MB, the account is opened after the company has already been registered, in any financial institution of your choice (it does not have to be a Lithuanian financial institution).

What documents will I receive after forming a new company?
Once Centre of Registers (VĮ Registrų centras) confirms incorporation of your company, you will receive digital copies of your official incorporation documents. The full package includes your certificate of incorporation, articles of association, Company’s extract (ESI), Shareholder (JADIS) and Beneficial owner (JANGIS) Extracts.
If you need physical documents with notarization or apostille, they can be ordered additionally after company registration as a separate service.
